Salient points of the sixth edition of the World Consumer Credit Reporting Conference

The sixth edition of the World Consumer Credit Reporting Conference (WCCR) was held in October in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, an event which since 1998 has involved the most important associations in the sector, and companies which manage credit reporting systems around the world.
Among the main themes programmed for this year’s edition was the role of credit bureaus (above all in light of the recent financial crisis) both from the point of view of the global economic setting and focusing

on developments in different geographical areas - from countries with developed economic models (Europe, North America) to developing markets (Asia, Latin America, Middle East).

	Non-Banking companies Launch New Credit Register
	Leasing and sales finance companies have established a new credit register in the Slovak Republic. The Non-Banking Register of Client Information (NRKI) will serve to assess the credibility of clients and to reduce the risk of occurrence of unpaid credit. This was announced at the today’s press conference by representatives of the eight founding companies of the Non Banking Credit Bureau (NBCB), and the operator of the Register, the Slovak Credit Bureau (SCB). The launch of the Non-Banking Register comes less than four years after the Joint Register of Banking Information (SRBI) officially began operating in Slovakia.
